6 Days In, What Have You Done?

Believe it or not, but we’re already 6 days into 2009. And as if time isn’t already flying by, I’ve still got plenty more things I’d like to get done before 31st January! I must admit, it’s taking a little longer than I first thought to get back into the swing of things after taking time off and having a bit of fun during the holiday.

Since I last posted, I managed to get a few things ticked off the to-do list. :D

The main one being was that I contacted my programmer, and talked about a few little tweaks we could make to the script. And out of the 4 or 5 simple things that we can tweak, it will ultimately make the users experience much more enjoyable, but easier too!

I’m not exactly sure of the saying, or even if there is one, but often it’s the smallest things that make the biggest difference! In fact, let me give you this example.

When you first setup a blog on WordPress, it comes installed with a default theme. That theme may be what you’re looking for, but for for most it’s not. With a quick search in the Theme Directory, you may be able to find another that’s going to be more suited for the kind of blog you’re creating.

…See how small that tweak was, and how much of a difference it can make?

Along with that email tennis, I’ve been giving this PC of mine another little spring clean. It’s not something I like spending hours upon hours doing, so I’ve really just been working my way though little chunks at a time. I’m amazed when I see multiple copies of the same file saved in completely different areas.

On a lighter side of things, I was very pleased to see a couple of commissions in my ClickBank account over the weekend (Friday and Saturday actually!) But considering the fact I wasn’t really doing any work, it’s a great feeling.

What have you been upto? I look forward on reading your comments!

Setting my goals for 2009 seems to be more difficult than I expected. I keep being too general and want to narrow them down. I guess goals don’t have to be set by the 1st of January.

One goal is set — to try to blog every other day on step by step. I think that is doable.

    • That’s a problem with me too. While I’ve set out some goals, that I’m going to do my best to achieve, I still feel I’m being too general in what I write and say.

I said I wanted to launch my first ever product. The thing about that statement, is that it doesn’t exactly say when, and I should really set a month in which I will launch it. (So I’m going to spend a good hour mapping out things in a little more detail!)

      Thanks

    Hi Mark,

I just teleported across from my blog where you left a most gracious post for me this morning. Initially, I thought you were one of the “Alex Jeffreys’” crew. But looking around here I see that you pre-date the “AJ Experience.” LOL!

This is a nice looking blog – simple, orderly and effective. I like it.

I have also seen a few posts that I am interested in here so I am gonna bookmark your site and return when things aren’t so hectic over at Gary-Land, as I call it.

We just had a 2.5 hour webinar this morning and my brain is still rattling. Alex managed to get Maria Andros – the “Video Queen of the Internet” on with us for almost two hours! What a major coup that was. That guy is connected.

Video marketing sure does look powerful. I did a precis of it over on my site and already it is getting hits and it’s only been up for an hour.

Anyway, I thought I’d pay my respects since you were so gracious to me. Thanks Mark.

    See you later…

    • Hi Gary, Maybe you thought right?!… ;)

I’m really glad you like my blog, and the comments are very much appreciated. Thanks for the bookmark too, and I too am looking forward to anything you have to say about other post’s here on Mark-McWilliams.com

You may see my first video further down the blog, and I’m definately looking forward to making even more! – And I’ll be making sure, that I implement the tips from Thurday’s webinar with Maria! :D

Talk later, and see you around!

      Thanks

    Hey Mark,
Thanks for dropping by and posting on my blog the other day. I put you on my blog roll. OK, I must admit getting out of the 2009 starting gate was a bit slow. I already am behind my goal of making 120 ClickBank infomercial videos by 120. But I’m getting going with other things like visiting blogs. I do feel I’m starting to really get it. I mean what Alex Jefferys says about don’t chase money, let money chase you.
    Still Excited,
    Rob Brooks

    • Hi Rob, and thanks for stopping by!

It took me a while to get back into the swing of things after that little break I took. And as a good frind of mine always keeps telling me, ‘Slow and steady wins the race!’

      Thanks
      Mark
