How To Install Google Analytics

The question about installing Google Analytics on your blog, or even just a normal site, pops up from time-to-time. And in fact, I often get asked how to do it. Well today was that day I decided to jump in at the deep end and create my first ever video for my blog readers!

Now as I said, this is my first video and I do apologise if anything doesn’t sound right, or indeed look right! To say that I was a touch nervous would be an understatement don’t you think?

What did you think then? Should I just stick to the writing, or would you like to see a few more videos from me in the future?

Very good first try. My main complaint was that I had to turn the volume up to maximum. I did remember to turn in back down. If I had gone back to Kevin Riley’s course without doing that, I would be without ear drums about now.

Excellent information. Just move a little slower with your camera actions. Voice fine. Love your accent.

Keep it up! BTW I learned something else from this. Pushed that tool at the far right of the video toolbar. Got a screenshot that covered the entire screen. Escape to return to smaller. Learn something every day.

Hi Mark and thanks for the video, installing Google Analytics has been on my list of things to do for a long time, this will make the task a lot easier!
I have to produce around twenty video’s for a new product that I am creating, to do with Blogging and I’m dreading it!
I would like you to review the product for me (when I’ve finished it) if that’s ok, as you seem to know your way around Wordpress and Blogging and I would value your opinion.
In answer to your questions, I thought the video was great and yes I would like to see more video’s from you in the future!

    Hi Mark,

At first, congrats with your first video!

The only comment I have, I share with Carol .. the volume is a little low. For a first time it’s great though and I think it’s very courageous of you just having made it, as I wouldn’t dare to have myself broadcasted over the web yet ;)

For the rest I think it’s clear, nice and short as such videos should be in my opinion. The info you are giving is very useful, so thank you for that also.

All that’s left to say is I agree with Colin. So keep those vids of yours coming!

  4. Hi Mark

I really liked your video – and the main thing is that you’ve tried something new. When I made my first video I was equally as nervous and had all the same fears you had… but once you’ve done it then it’s much easier the next time. I thought you explained it really clearly – and it wasn’t too long. As others have said maybe turn the volume up a little ;)

Keep up what you’re doing mate!

  5. @ Carol – Think I need a hew headset with a decent microphone, but then I could hear myself perfectly well! (Until I worked out my volume was turned up! LOL)

@ Colin – Sounds good, and I’d love to take a look at your product when you have it finished. Just send me a ticket via my helpdesk which you can find a link to up in the navigation. ;) Thanks for the feedback on the video too, if you want to see more, then I better do some more.

@ Daniël Glad you liked the video, and hopefully the next time we’ll manage to sort the volume out. Suppose I better get working on another one don’t you think?!

@ Daniel – Well that was the main plan, and hopefully when I go make my next one, it’ll be better and easier to create!
Thanks for the possitive comments though, and some nice interviews you’ve done with other marketers!

The video was a good first effort. So you shouldn’t be afraid to make another one. But as someone said mind the volume. :)

    Hi Mark

Thank’s for the Google Analytics video, I’ve been meaning to get round to it but didn’t know how. You’ve made it a whole lot easier.

Congrats on your first video it was very informative and nicely explained. I will look forward to more video’s from you in the future.

  8. @ Daniel – Thanks for the comments, they are much appreciated!

@ Dawn – Same goes for you, and I’m glad you enjoyed it! I’ll get something else sorted out, and probably post it soon. Although a couple of written posts first I think. (Don’t want to have all the video’s together!)

    Hello Mark

I know how hard it is for the first time when making a video, especially if you make a video where you appear in person.

But having said that, for your first effort, you need to pat yourself on the back, and keep up the good work. All good stuff and useful content

EHHH if i ever need a video doing, i’ll know where to come now!

Best of luck with everything you do

    Thanks again Mark

    • Thanks Lee, while I’d like to make a video where I appear in person, I think it’ll be a little longer before anyone see’s that! This year though, and that’s what I’m aiming for.

Your comments are much appreciated, and I’m glad you liked the video. It was fun making it, all be it a touch nervous! – I know you do some video too, and your not all that bad yourself. :P

Thanks Mark, I’ve followed the instructions, just need to wait 24 hours for Google to pick up the change.
